Commingled Recycling Setup for Bars and Venues

Night-time venues move a lot of bottles and cans. Keep commingled clean and costs down with this simple setup.

Bin mix and timing

• 240L/360L inside for staff to decant; 660L outside for bulk storage.
• Pickups the morning after peak nights (Fri/Sat) to avoid overflow.
• Keep commingled away from sinks to reduce liquid contamination.

Stop contamination

• Empty all bottles/cans; liquids cause rejections.
• Keep coffee cups and food out; add a general waste bin next to commingled.
• Post a short "yes/no" sign with your own brands visible.

Glass weight and handling

• Do not overfill small bins with glass; weight limits can trigger extra fees.
• If glass dominates, ask for a separate glass stream to lower contamination risk.
