Mixed-use buildings need one clear policy so tenants and cleaners know what to do and what happens if streams are contaminated.

Standard bin set

• General, commingled, and cardboard at minimum; organics where food is prepared.
• Rear-lift sizes per floor; 660L/1100L in main rooms; front-lift if volume demands.
• Secure bins for confidential paper if offices require it.

Rules to post

• Flatten cardboard; liquids out of commingled; no food in cardboard or commingled.
• Blocked access or overfilled bins may trigger return fees; keep paths clear.
• Repeated contamination: educate first, then chargeback only after repeat.

Operations

• Night cleaners briefed with a one-page guide and photos of your actual bins.
• Weekly spot checks; log issues with photos and fixes.
• Monthly summary for owners: lifts, contamination events, overflows.
