Centres juggle many tenants and tight dock windows. Standardise the basics to control costs and keep docks safe.

Standard bin menu for tenants

• Rear-lift: 240L/360L for small retailers; 660L/1100L for food courts and supermarkets.
• Front-lift: 1.5m3/3.0m3 for anchors and high-volume back-of-house.
• Cardboard stream for all tenants; commingled for bottles/cans; organics for food operators.

Dock rules that work

• Set fixed drop-off windows by tenancy type; post them in the dock and on tenant welcome packs.
• Require cardboard to be flattened; liquids out of commingled.
• Keep a simple log for blocked bays and contamination; share monthly with tenants.

Contamination control

• Tenant-specific "yes/no" signs in their languages; use photos of actual packaging.
• Spot checks weekly; share photos and quick fixes in a tenant bulletin.
• Chargebacks only after education and a repeat issue.

Reporting

• Monthly roll-up: lifts by stream, contamination events, overflows, and costs per sqm.
• Highlight wins (cardboard diversion) and repeat issues to focus training.
