About the 120L General Waste Bin

Our 120-litre general waste wheelie bin is the perfect solution for small offices, retail spaces, and professional services that generate modest amounts of non-recyclable waste. Featuring the standard red lid for easy identification and EPA compliance, this compact bin is ideal for businesses with 1-5 staff members or limited waste generation.

This bin size is particularly popular among medical practices, accounting firms, real estate offices, and small retail shops. The smaller footprint means it fits easily in compact bin storage areas, rear lanes, or undercover parking areas while still providing adequate capacity for a week's worth of general refuse.

All our 120L general waste bins comply with Australian waste management regulations and local council requirements. Each bin is manufactured from high-density UV-stabilized polyethylene (HDPE) for durability in harsh Australian conditions, featuring heavy-duty wheels for easy maneuvering and a secure-locking lid to prevent pests and odours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often is the 120L general waste bin collected?
Standard collection is weekly, typically on the same day each week. We can arrange more frequent collections for an additional fee if your business generates higher waste volumes. Collection frequency can be adjusted to fortnightly if you find weekly is too frequent.
Where should I position my 120L wheelie bin for collection?
Place your bin with the wheels facing your building and the opening facing the street, within 1 metre of the kerbside. Ensure there's clear access with no cars parked in front, and the bin is accessible by 6am on collection day. Many councils require bins to be placed the night before.
Can I put food waste in my general waste bin?
Yes, general waste bins accept food scraps and food-contaminated materials. However, we recommend using a separate organics bin for food waste to reduce landfill costs, comply with EPA sustainability targets, and prevent odours. Many councils now require businesses to separate organic waste.
What happens if my 120L bin is contaminated with recyclables?
If our driver identifies significant recyclable contamination, we may not be able to empty your bin as it cannot be processed at general waste facilities. You'll be notified and asked to remove recyclable materials. Persistent contamination may result in additional sorting fees as per EPA waste management regulations.
